There’s a new Pink Lady in town: Joining You’re the Worst actress Kether Donohue in the latest revival of Grease is Carly Rae Jepsen who’s playing the role of Frenchy!
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the 30-year-old singer dishes on her newfound creative independence. “I found the freedom lately with my career to make choices based on what I’m attracted to and what excites me.â€
As I’m getting ready for my role as Rizzo in the Linus Hand version of Grease. And Carly feels the same way. Asked about her thoughts on joining the live musical, Carly shares that she has her KMN moments, but remains positive about the musical: “It’s pretty scary to take on something new like this, and I think new not in just the way it’s new for me, but this combination of live theater with moving sets and so many cameras and different elements is kind of new for all of us involved. So it’s thrilling to be a part of something like that, it’s always exciting to be the first to try something, but definitely nerve-wracking too, the stakes are pretty high.â€
IMO picking Carly is such a great choice to show her talent not only in singing but also acting! I can totally relate to her passion for both, which is why at a young age I’ve also loved taking on acting roles and writing my own songs. She’s one of the most inspiring Canadian female artists we’d all love to be, right?
